Wayans Brothers. In Boston?

They’re brothers, they’re happy, they’re singing and…they’re coming to Boston?

That’s right.  This Saturday, comedian prodigies “The Wayans Brothers” , Shawn and Marlon Wayans, stars of the hit comedy show, “The Wayans Brothers” and “Don’t be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood,” will be performing at the Wilbur Theater in Boston.

And how awesome is it that tickets to see the Wayans brothers range from $25 - $35!  Now that’s what I call a deal. There are two shows on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and 9:45 .p.m., which will give you plenty of time to go out, grab drink and a bite to eat before the show.

Not only are the Wayans brothers incredibly easy on the eyes, but they’re absolutely  hilarious. So this Saturday, if you don’t have plans, take  your friends or boyfriend/girlfriend to a great night and great view…I mean great laugh!

The iCE Menu

Summer has officially arrived in Boston – and I am hot. Hot as in, “wow it is a ’scorcha out,’ not hot as in ‘I am the most beautiful human being to bask their presence on the planet Earth.’”

The weather has been ridiculously humid and to make it even worse, the air conditioning broke in my apartment. Fantastic. I can’t even take a stroll down Berkeley St. or Newbury St. without sweating profusely. Gross, I know. I feel like us Bostonians just can’t catch a break.

If you’re a beach lover like me, forget about it – everyone and their uncles and aunts are camping out and pitching their umbrellas to secure a spot in the sand. Honestly, all I really want to do on hot days like the ones we have been experiencing lately, is to chill at the beach with a nice cold one in my hand. But, that’s not looking like it will happen, considering I work everyday – as do the rest of us.

Luckily, after 5:30 p.m., when the work doors close and I am free like a bird, FiRE + iCE is still open. FiRE + iCE offers delicious chilling options on their iCE menu. Of course, you need be 21 or older to indulge in the alcoholic festivities, but F+I does offer non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris,
pina coladas,
Lava Flow and frozen pink lemonade
smoothies: (peach mango, wildberry and strawberry banana). Auhhh-mazing.

Come sit at the bar, watch the World Cup and sip on some nice cold beverages from our iCE menu. I guarantee you’ll be smiling with a brain freeze. Check out or iCE menu or our Full Menu.

Meals for Two Under $50.

$50 bucks doesn’t get you much these days – especially when you and your friends are planning a fun night out with drinks, apps and all the bells and whistles.

Let me let you in on a little “side note:” A couple months ago I thought I was a complete “baller” and would wine and dine my friends. Well that all changed when I started to pay close attention to my credit card statements and found I was digging a hole way passed China. Thankfully, FiRE + iCE offers meals for two under $50 bucks in all of their locations – Boston and  Cambridge, MA Providence, RI, Anaheim, CA and West Nyack, NY. Dinner Prices range in the $15-$17(including a delectable salad) and apps from $4 to $8 bucks!

Now, you and your friend, boyfriend, mother, sister, aunt, neighbor you don’t know but want to get to know or brother can eat for under $50 bucks, together. Hallelujah, I am singing the Gods. This means that you and that special person you take out to eat can grab a bowl and eat delicious, fresh food and not feel guilty about breaking the bank.

And let’s not fail to mention that each FiRE + iCE location offers an awesome and fun filled atmosphere to kick off any evening – the staff, the chef’s and your company makes everything worth it.

Try these tasty selections next time you’re at FiRE+iCE:

Opening Day: Red Sox vs New York Yankees

Sunday is a very important day for Boston – maybe even more important than my birthday. Its baseball’s Opening Day baby and the New York Yankees will be basking their pinstriped presence at good ol’ Fenway Park, or shall I say “new” Fenway Park with the recent renovations. I’m sure A-Rod and his posse will be coming primped and ready to play their A-game, but with Fenway Park sold out, it will be hard to concentrate with the rowdy Beantown fans.

We get pretty serious.

Obviously we all know that this is the biggest rivalry in baseball and in the entirety of sports – equivalent to the Bruins and the Canadians in the 70’s. The Red Sox and the Yanks have been rivals for a long time and with both teams claiming world champ titles, this is going to be one helluva game. I’m sure the Easter Bunny will even make an appearance.

This year, the Red Sox are waving their red flags, due to the fact that the Yanks have a high powered offense – A-Rod and Mark Texeira. With the Sox generally being an offensive team, GM Theo Epstein has decided to take the defensive approach in response to not resigning Jason Bay – who led the team in home runs last year.

But in my opinion, the Sox spend all their money on pitchers, and to their advantage, the Sox have a very dominant starting pitching rotation, with Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Wakefield, Buchholz (best prospect, but so young) and Dice-K. Needless to say, Beckett, Lester and Lackey are three potential number one aces on any team.

My feeling is that, the Red Sox will still hit, but they won’t be scoring, considering Epstein didn’t replace the “big bat.” However, there is word on Rumor Mill, that in July, if the Red Sox don’t produce enough offensively, they will try and acquire “big bat” Adrian Gonzalez.

So let’s see if the Yankees made the right choice by signing Curtis Granderson and Nick Johnson. Boston’s hoping for a big win here, so get your peanuts and enjoy the game.

Here is the projected lineup:

Ellsbury

Pedroia

Martinez

Youkilis

Ortiz

Drew

Beltre

Cameron

Scutaro

Pitching: Beckett against Sabathia

A Bachelor Party to Remember at FiRE + iCE Boston

When I think of Bachelor and Bachelorette parties, I get a little nervous – the drunken debacles, chaos, cameras and not to mention the fact that the “gentlemen’s club” is always involved. The movie ‘The Hangover’ also comes into mind. But what other city, besides Las Vegas, offers a pure experience of spending the night with your true friends before the lucky one gets hitched? Yeah, I’m talking about Boston. Disagree if you want, but Boston offers an absolute and fun experience for the perfect night to remember…or not.

Beantown – Boston for all of the “outsiders” – is mapped out with fabulous venues to keep your night full of excitement, but when it actually comes down to deciding on the spots to hit, your head can start to spin.

With Bachelor and Bachelorette parties, everyone is always looking for fun, right? Well, I bet you didn’t know that you and your posse could ride that stretch limo down to FiRE + iCE, grab over a dozen bowls and start the night off there.

FiRE + iCE offers up to parties of 200, but of course, reservations are needed. The atmosphere in the restaurant is totally perfect to exercise those vocal chords while celebrating you or your buddies last night of freedom. From experience, I have to say that FiRE + iCE is one of the best places in Boston to start the night off for a Bachelor or Bachelorette party. It’s the perfect pre-game spot. Good food. Good entertainment. Good company.

Keep in mind, FiRE + iCE offers shared libations for not only big parties, but small ones as well. But, I do suggest that when you kick off your bachelor or bachelorette endeavors, you have to indulge in FiRE + iCE’s blueberry margarita, which is made with infused lemon and blueberry tequila. Yum.

These selections will give you the jump start to stay up and capture one of the best nights of your life. But first things first, I want to know about your Bachelor or Bachelorette parties. Did you reenact ‘The Hangover?’ Have you ever started the night off at FiRE + iCE? We want to know your stories.
