Wayans Brothers. In Boston?

They’re brothers, they’re happy, they’re singing and…they’re coming to Boston?

That’s right.  This Saturday, comedian prodigies “The Wayans Brothers” , Shawn and Marlon Wayans, stars of the hit comedy show, “The Wayans Brothers” and “Don’t be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in The Hood,” will be performing at the Wilbur Theater in Boston.

And how awesome is it that tickets to see the Wayans brothers range from $25 - $35!  Now that’s what I call a deal. There are two shows on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and 9:45 .p.m., which will give you plenty of time to go out, grab drink and a bite to eat before the show.

Not only are the Wayans brothers incredibly easy on the eyes, but they’re absolutely  hilarious. So this Saturday, if you don’t have plans, take  your friends or boyfriend/girlfriend to a great night and great view…I mean great laugh!

Scavenger Hunt From Your Cell

We’re pretty much all familiar with the classic scavenger hunt game, right? To play, all  you have to do is gather a few friends, create a couple of teams and then seek to gather a number of specific items on a list, in which each team usually gets by taking a picture. Simple.

Now take that oh so classic game and tailor it to fit your business……and play it from your cell phone? Yes, your cell phone.

Traditional scavenger hunt is an entertaining game, but now with new technology and social media communities, people don’t even have to get out of bed to be entertained (I’m liking this already).

Creator Seth Priebatsch took this into consideration when he created SCVNGR.com,  an innovative game about going places, doing challenges and earning points….right from your cell phone.  Thats right. Scavenger hunt from your cell phone -  what will they think of next?

SCVNGR.com allows businesses to build there own scavenger hunt game tailored to their business. Amazing, huh? This is such an awesome way to get people interested in your company.

There has already been 550 institutions in 44 states and countries who have built on SCVNGR.com.  This is almost like a glorified Four Square.

Your company could be next! We suggest you check it out. http://www.scvngr.com/

FiRE + iCE Beats

It’s funny how sometimes you can be inspired by the most random things.  Maybe you’re laying out at the park on a warm cloudy day and you happen to look up at the right moment and notice that the clouds make the most amazing portrait you’ve ever seen.

It happens to me every so often and when it does, I try to mimic what I’ve seen and put it on paper - you know, capture the moment somehow.  I usually produce a pretty cool drawing.  To be inspired is amazing, especially when you’re able to create a physical memory of that inspiration, such as a drawing, or a…..a music beat?

Yes!  Music beats!  Beats are so amazing, especially the ones that you can’t help but bob your head to, close your eyes and think, “how could someone create this brilliant music beat that’s making me feel so good right now?”   Then you happen to think, where did this beat originate from? Or,  what was the artist’s inspiration for this “feel good” melody?

I couldn’t help but think exactly that when I came across the Beats- [Fire and Ice] featured on YouTube by an artist named Boygnyus, no older than 18.  He created one of the dopest beast I’ve ever heard… and so effortlessly!

Beats- [Fire and Ice] YouTube video is simply inspiration manifested into one amazing R&B beat.  And it wasn’t until after I watched Beats- [Fire and Ice], that I found out the ” Fire and Ice” beat was actually inspired by the FIRE+ICE restaurant in Nyack NY!  Turns out B0ygnyus ate at the Nyack FIRE+ICE and immediately created the Beats- [Fire and Ice] video and rendered his FIRE+ICE dining experience as his “inspiration.”

I’m telling you, just watch and listen to B0ygnyus’ more than impressive creation. It’s guaranteed to get your head bobbing. www.youtube.com/user/b0ygnyus

The iCE Menu

Summer has officially arrived in Boston – and I am hot. Hot as in, “wow it is a ’scorcha out,’ not hot as in ‘I am the most beautiful human being to bask their presence on the planet Earth.’”

The weather has been ridiculously humid and to make it even worse, the air conditioning broke in my apartment. Fantastic. I can’t even take a stroll down Berkeley St. or Newbury St. without sweating profusely. Gross, I know. I feel like us Bostonians just can’t catch a break.

If you’re a beach lover like me, forget about it – everyone and their uncles and aunts are camping out and pitching their umbrellas to secure a spot in the sand. Honestly, all I really want to do on hot days like the ones we have been experiencing lately, is to chill at the beach with a nice cold one in my hand. But, that’s not looking like it will happen, considering I work everyday – as do the rest of us.

Luckily, after 5:30 p.m., when the work doors close and I am free like a bird, FiRE + iCE is still open. FiRE + iCE offers delicious chilling options on their iCE menu. Of course, you need be 21 or older to indulge in the alcoholic festivities, but F+I does offer non-alcoholic strawberry daiquiris,
pina coladas,
Lava Flow and frozen pink lemonade
smoothies: (peach mango, wildberry and strawberry banana). Auhhh-mazing.

Come sit at the bar, watch the World Cup and sip on some nice cold beverages from our iCE menu. I guarantee you’ll be smiling with a brain freeze. Check out or iCE menu or our Full Menu.

FiRE + iCE Introduces Thirteen NEW, Healthy Sauces!

Ladies and Gents, I have some “sauce-tastic” news for you. But quite frankly, I don’t think you’re ready for what FiRE + iCE has in store. Over the past 10 years of being one of the most fun and delicious establishments, FiRE + iCE has decided to revamp their sauces and give customers tasty new flavors to blanket any meal. And the best part about each new sauce? They do not contain the unruly devil, high fructose corn syrup, and are made with all natural ingredients. Yum. I am already salivating.

FiRE + iCE is so excited about these scrumptious sauces, that we are throwing a “Sauce Party” on May 24th to kick off the new variety of healthy sauces. Who ever thought sauces could be so cool? We want you and your friends and family to come on down, grab a bowl, and dip into the new succulent flavors.

Below is the list of FiRE + iCE’s new sauces.

WARNING: May envoke sudden urges to run to your local FiRE + iCE.

1.Greensburg Teriyaki  : Our dangerous Pacific Rim island blend of aged soy sauce, garlic, honey, pineapple & OJ. The perfect first date sauce. Should be at least 18 to try it!

2.Mesquite BBQ: A Southwestern classic with a sweet, smoky tomato & spices piquancy.

3.Hunan Shiitake: From Central China, spicy & sweet, full of succulent shiitake (black) mushroom chunks, a good hit of fresh ginger finished with the unique nip of Szechwan peppercorn.

4.Sweet Chili: Thailand’s classic BBQ/stir fry sauce. Sweet, garlicky with significant chili induced fire. Just grill and chill.

5. Marinara: A fresh tomato sauce from Italy, full of coarsely chopped plum tomatoes, garlic, pure olive oil and traditional herbs and spices. The sauce only your Nonna could make.

6. Szechwan: If you revel in a bit of sting to your pallet. A traditional Stir Fry sauce from Southern China; Aged soy sauce, rice wine, garlic & ginger accented by the aroma of sesame oil provides prelude to the mouth sting of chili.

7. Cantonese Sweet & Sour: For your sweet tooth. (Minus the hokey red coloring or Maraschino Cherries) A Hong Kong classic combining rice wine, tomato, pineapple, garlic and rice vinegar.

8. Ponzu. A Japanese classic finishing, dressing and dipping sauce for those that appreciate a delicate & subtle sauce. Citrus enhanced aged soy and sake (rice wine) with ginger & sesame oil make this perfect for vegetables, chicken & seafood.

9. Peppercorn/Brandy: If the flavor of pepper is what you’re cravin’, this slightly sweet & sour tomato enhanced sauce contains lots of multicolor whole peppercorns with a hint of French brandy.

10. Island Jerk: Ya mon, we’re takin’ you to Jamaica. This stuff is hot. Habanero peppers, onions, lime juice and traditional Caribbean spices marry to liven up your medley.

11. Red Curry: Thank you Thailand! Voluptuous creamy coconut, spicy, with lots of traditional ingredients including, lime leaf, lemon grass, ginger root, lime juice, shrimp paste & Chilis. Allergy alert, contains shrimp.

Eat Till You Drop

I adore shopping. Who doesn’t? However, the only parts about shopping I dislike are looking at my credit card statements and crying excessively over the unnecessary purchases I made, and the fact that I become so feeble while shopping (due to hunger). I wish I could constantly eat while escapading through the mall. Fortunately, the hunger issue can easily be fixed. Malls are stacked with restaurants to get grub. Although, I’m not talking about “Micky D’s” or Auntie’s Pretzel’s – yes, they are quick fixes, but French fries and pretzels filled with cheese will only make me more depressed.

After a long day of shopping with friends, I like to take a seat and relax for an hour or so – and let’s not fail to mention that I will absolutely be sipping on a margarita.

If you hail from the Rockland County, New York area and find yourself a common visitor of the Palisades Center in West Nyack– one of the largest malls in the country with over 220 shops, restaurants and theatres –make sure to grab a bowl at FiRE + iCE. The restaurant is located on the 4th level of the Palisades Center. I have been to this mall before, and boy, it is large. It was also a dangerous shopping experience, putting me in a little debt. I like to forget about that…

FiRE + iCE’s largest restaurant can be found in the Providence Place Mall in Providence, RI. FiRE + iCE is centrally located near Kennedy Plaza, many historical hotels and walking distance to Johnson and Wales University, RISD, Brown University and Providence College. Perfect location for you and your compadres. FiRE + iCE opened this location in 1999, which seats up to 326 guests. So now you and your shopping buddies (that easily influence your shopping habits) can wine and dine after a long, laggard day of swiping that plastic. A good thing to note is that on Monday nights, FiRE + iCE hosts ‘College Night,’ where with a valid college ID, dinner is only $9.95. We also feature a $1.99 Happy Hour Appetizer Menu. Amazing.

If you reside on the West Coast and are in the vicinity of the Shops at the Anaheim Garden Walk, you are in complete danger. Kidding. Well, kind of. The shops here are amazing and the location is absolutely to die for. The FiRE + iCE restaurant in Anaheim showcases an incredible variety of fresh food, cooked on the open grill, in an invigorating atmosphere. The cool thing about this FiRE + iCE is that it features an expansive outdoor patio with a fire pit. So you and your friends can pow-wow outside and enjoy a superb meal. Or, you and the loved one can have a romantic evening and sip on the signature FiRE + iCE Blueberry Lemon margarita in the fresh, Anaheim outdoor climate.

Anyhow, all of this talk about FiRE + iCE is making me quite hungry. I’m going to grab a bowl. Until next time.
